From the NY Times today:
The Palestinian prime minister-designate, Ahmed Qureia, has given Arafat and Fatah considerable say over the composition of his government. Qureia has said he wants to avoid confrontations with Arafat that helped bring down his predecessor, Mahmoud Abbas.

The appropriate English translation, I believe, includes the phrase "butt-monkey."

Monkey-butts or Butt-Monkeys? Which translation version are you using?.

I bet this butt-monkey has only one ass. If it's not a four-assed monkey, it's of no use to me!

I don't want to say "no" because to admit to a loss of hope is to beg things to get worse.

But I'll be damned if I can see any obvious possibilities or directions, at least in the next decade. I'm just hoping we don't get another crop of fscking messiahs...
