I've been slacking on my news consumption lately, on the theory that the world can go to hell without any attention at all from me. But the big story on my radar screen lately is that final status talks on Kosovo begin next month. I can't imagine any outcome that's not somehow destabilizing for the region.

It's a good thing for the gov't there that the people aren't well coordinated. But I think it might be pretty bad for the people...
Some of this looks a bit like NIMBY, but filling in a several mile sized inlet to build a power-plant, thereby removing the ability of a 40K person village from being able to fish? That's pretty severe, that's not just a new smokestack sticking up in sight from the backyard fence....
